Tourism

The tourism potential is characterized at present by the existence of natural and anthropic tourism resources.

Natural resources are rich, from the very spectacular mountain relief, with morphological contrasts resulting from the high fragmentation, crests and peaks offering a spectacular scenery. The alternation of the corridors with the high areas offer a very beautiful landscape. Anieş Valley is the most promising from this point of view, due to the wild relief, the picturesque created by Anieş river, bordered by abrupt versants.

The protected areas with natural value aree Mihăiesei Springs and Natural Park Rodna Mountains, where pasturing, chasing or plant cropping are forbidden.

The mixt reservation of Mihăiesei Springs is a reservation including a protected area of 50 ha, and the protected items are crystal rocks, and the black grouse – LYRUX TETRIX.

The real interest objectives are the fauna and vegetation of the area, characterized by protected species such as edelweiss.

The presence of these bio-climates also represent an objective of interest for the natural visiting potential.

The tourism visiting potential is generated by Potenţialul turistic hidrografic este generat de Someş Valley and Anieş Valley, which are characterized by successive large and narrow areas, which confer the landscape an exquisite beauty. Moreover, the rivers are perfect for swimming or fishing.

The anthropic resources are represented by both the built patrimony, and the traditions and customs of the area.

PATRIMONY OF BUILDINGS

A few valuable visiting objectives can be met in Maieru:

The rock church "Cuvioasa Parascheva", also known as the Uphill Church, built in 1818;

The museum Cuibul Visurilor (Dreams Nest), where ethnographic artefacts are exposed (agricultural tools, traditional suits), historic artefacts (Dacian pottery, sketches, maps, documents), as well as documents belonging to the writer Liviu Rebreanu, who lived his childhood in the village of Maieru. The museum holds more than 6000 pieces, being one of the largest village collections in the country.

The households can turn into tourism objectives since many of them still keep the rural architecture and are adorned with pieces of furniture made by the inhabitants, the walls covered with the so-called păretare (kind of wall carpets) resulted from a traditional activity of the women here - waving.

If the houses of the past were built in wood, having a maximum of two rooms separated by a porch, the more recent houses are built of rock blocks, covered with marble, with one floor and balconies instead of porch.

In the village of Anieş, the buildings patrimony is represented by the ruins of the citadel. It was built in the 17th century, in order to survey the surroundings.

Despite the existence of visiting objectives, the area is poorly explored from this point of view, as the only lodging facilities being a three-star lodging houses, on Anieş Valley.
